Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or melt it in a saucepan over low heat on the stovetop. Let it cool slightly.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well until the sugar is fully incorporated into the butter.
- Add the Eggs or Butter Milk and Vanilla: Add the eggs or Butter Milk one at a time, to the butter-sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to over mix.
- Fold in the Walnuts: Gently fold in the chopped walnuts into the brownie batter, reserving a handful for topping, if desired.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the reserved walnuts on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Cut: Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut them into squares or rectangles.
- Serve: Serve the walnut brownies as is or with a scoop of ice cream, if desired. Enjoy!
